As our transfers happen over the internet, monitoring and maintaining your data security is of the utmost priority, so all data sent from your server to our storage facility is first encrypted for transmission. Then, to ensure this continued privacy, this is encrypted once again on our servers, with your unique password acting as the decryption key. This approach not only protects your data at the highest degree, but also guarantees you’re protected against every scenario.

The technology we use at Year One IT & BackupSafe also reduces the amount of data that is sent over the internet by only updating new or altered aspects of your files and sending these to the server. After the initial backup is complete, your daily backups will only consist of files that have been changed in some way. As a result, we are able to offer a data retention policy (AKA schedule), which by default is 30 days, but can be amended to suit your needs and regulatory requirements. This means you’ll have a backup history, which comes in handy should file corruption or an accidental deletion occur.
